When Marsaille was born, the doctors said she had a whole in her heart, her tongue was still attached to the bottom of her mouth and her pinky finger was twisted. I thought that my baby would not be normal (as we define normal). Many years ago a miracle happened amidst the wild daisies growing along the road where the bees frolicked each morning. It recurred at high noon on the mossy rocks surrounding the icy artesian waters of the frog pond, and again in the afternoon as I dug my toes in the sand and searched for quartz gems and shell treasures in the wavy shallows of the lake. On Easter Sunday in 1981, the man I'd waited many years for the Lord to show me, asked me to marry him. On Saturday after Easter in 1982, we said our vows before all our family and friends. The following Easter Sunder 1983 we brought home from the hospital our beautiful baby girl. And the Saturday after Easter in 1984, I laid to rest my wonderful Tom, along with all our hopes and dreams for a long blessed future together as a family. Our daughter, Oleta De'An, was arrested and arreigned in Dallas, Texas. She was later placed in Bryan Federal Prison Camp - we took her on January 4 ,2006. Her crime was selling crack cocaine and considered a conspiracy with 4 others. My story is multi-faceted. The blessings and out pouring of God's grace and forgiveness in my life have been imeasurable. If I had to choose the most significant one thus far it is my marriage miracle. We married out of the will of God. We had been living together and had a baby 1 year before marriage. I’ve been a Christian since I was 4. That’s right four! Oh, I didn’t know all the theological intricacies that come along with our Christian faith but I knew I did bad things and I knew a price need to be paid because of those things. I am what you would call a "wilderness Christian". I did not grow up in the church, but rather in the world outside of it. My father had no use for the church and my mother had become somewhat of a lost sheep since her later teen years. The only time we discussed faith was when my father would gloat over some scandal within the local churches. My story is a story of faith and walking through trials to have the life the Lord intended. Though I was in the depths of alcoholism, unemployment and physical abuse..I always knew that God had a better way for me. Back in February of 2007 our house burned down around me. I was the only one in the house and when I woke up the house was totally engulfed in flames, except for our bedroom. I opened the bedroom door and all that was there was a wall fo flames. I had no where to go! A bride at 52 years of age! Who would have believed that after 30+ years of silence and separation, I would marry the man I was engaged to in my senior year in high school? Earlier this year I discovered that my husband had been unfaithful to me several times over the past three years. I was devastated. Everything I thought I knew was turned upside down. I was a lesbian but I was forgiven because I acted ignorantly. The grace of our Lord overflowed for me. My past offenses have been wiped away and forgotten so that they no longer drag me down at all or leave me in an inferior position against other good people who have received God’s grace, revealing God’s faithfulness and love as he gives his grace to me. It was the year 1981, I was 13 years old at that time when my mother who was the heart of our home passed away suddenly of an aneurysm. Needless to say we were devastated. My father, three brothers and I dealt with the pain in our own way and I found myself seeking comfort in people, things and alcohol, only to be hurt again and again. Oh, what you can learn from a child's faith! Our family went to a restaurant after church where they gave out balloons, tied with long strings. My grandson Josiah, 3 1/2, had his balloon tied to a chair because he kept losing it. The year was 1967 my age - just 4 years old and I was laying in a hospital bed in a full body cast. My prognosis wasn't good. I needed to make it through the first critcial hours the doctors told my mother. If I made it through those then I would have a chance to live. When I was three a man barged into our apartment, he was very angry. I watched as he beat my mom, then in a rage, he cut my mother's throat, killing her. My story is one of stepping forward without knowing what God has planned for me. I was raised in a Baptist pastor's home, so pretty much went to church before I was born. My heart has almost always been about ministry. My name is Nancy Nuding, I am a christian, 48 year old woman. I recently have been given the desire of my heart to "Speak to Women" about the Lord and His presence in my life. God used the experiences of my life, a living testimony, to share with others about living a "transparent life for Christ" at a Womens Breakfast in our area. I attended a Warm Beach Retreat in Seattle, Washington. I heard Thelma speak on the impossibility of the bumble bee's flying abilities. It was something that has reminded me time and again that God does want me to win and he doesn't want me to live in shame and discouragement.
